Apollo IPA

I made this beer back in late September 2011, finally got around to reviewing it.

White light pillow head which laces to the side of the glass. Color is dark orange with a bit of red hue. Aroma is slightly fruity with hints of grape. Medium body. Slight fruity flavour with a bit of tangerine followed by crisp bitterness and resiny spiceyness.

Althought this was a good stab at experimenting with Apollo hops I would have to say that next time I would change the malt profile on this IPA. I would probably eliminate the Crystal 60L and go in favour with something more malty that doesn't add to the resiny flavour. This hop doesn't seem to fit the flavour/aroma category and next time I would use it purely for bittering in a beer with a fuller malt profile.
