Well its been a while since i blogged. i now have an app to publish from my phone so will be much easier. Bought a pineapple from Costco and also had some lemon peel from the last brewnosers group buy, so I decided to brew a lemon pineapple blonde beer. This brew contained 2 row, 5% crystal 15, %2 carapils, citra, and saaz hops.
Mashed for 75 minutes biab and reached 83% mash efficiency and 77% efficiency. OG came out at 1.046 (expected 1.044) and batch size ~23 litres. Overall was a good brew day. Propane tank seemed to quit at 45 min into the boil even though it was refilled the week prior. Also forgot to add Irish moss, dough!
Tasting a sample of the final result. Was very sweet and had a good lemon aroma and some pineapple as well, but very little pineapple taste. Once fermented I may add some more pineapple to the secondary or keg.
Fermenting this at around 18 degrees.
